Attracting the attention of the media at the Paris airshow was the Solar Impulse, the world's first solar-powered aircraft, which made its debut public appearance at Le Bourget. Underlining the sustainability theme of the show, the Solar Impulse (HB-SIA) was a 'special guest' of show organisers GIFAS. The aircraft arrived at Le Bourget on June 14, after a ten-hour flight from Brussels Zaventem Airport. It had been in Brussels since late May, after completing its first international flight from its Payerne base in Switzerland.
