BAC 111-401AK N162W (c 087) owned by Northrop Grumman has been used to demonstrate sensors of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II during Exercise Northern Edge. The aircraft has an AN/APG-81 active electronically scanned array radar mounted on its nose running Block 3 and developmental software, and carries other sensors and systems destined for the combat aircraft, including the AN/AAQ-37 Distributed Aperture System with Block 2 delivery software. It is seen at King County International Airport/Boeing Field, Washington, on June 11.
