A proposal for a second multiyear buy of Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotors has been submitted by the partners in the manufacturing team to the US Navy. Multi-year procurement II (MYP II) would be a five-year deal worth approximately $8 billion, confirming Osprey production until 2019. The partners claim that it would also provide the US Government with 'double-digit percentage savings' over year-by-year procurement. Details were announced on August 4 by Bell Helicopters and the Boeing Company.
