Boeing wilt upgrade the Fuerzas Aeromoviles del Ejercito de Tierra's (Spanish Army Aviation) Chinooks from CH-47D to CH-47F standard under a deal announced on January 3, 2019; the first international customer to do so. The contract was signed between Boeing and the US Army in July 2018. Upgrade work will include the addition of the CH-47F Digital Automatic Flight Control System, common avionics architecture system and advanced cargo handling system.
