VIRGIN ATLANTIC is seeking growth by boosting passenger feed onto its existing services. To this end, last summer it acquired Flybe.the largest regional airline in Europe, through its majority stake in the Connect Airways consortium. Flybe will be rebranded as Virgin Connect in 2020. Virgin Atlantic also has plans to launch an expanded joint venture on transatlantic flights with Air France, KLM and Delta. In additional expansion plans, the carrier is eyeing considerable growth on its long-haul network from its Heathrow hub, although developments hinge on whether the UK government decides to build a third runway.
