AEROVIRONMENT IS accepting orders for the Puma LE (Long Endurance), a newly launched version of its Puma All Environment (AE) small UAV, with the first delivery expected in spring 2020. The developer says the Puma LE "builds on the combat-proven Puma AE legacy with new capabilities, increased range and expanded payload capacity." The LE weighs 22.5lb (10.4kg), has an operational range of 32nm (60km) and a 5.5lb (2.5kg) payload capacity. Its on-board batteries will provide five-and-a-half hours' endurance, enabling an operator to spend twice as long on station as with the AE.
