INDUSTRIAL USE of additive manufacturing of engine components within an aero engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility will be performed for the first time by mid-2020. The capability will be used at Component Aerospace Singapore, which provides engine part repair for combustion chambers, fuel system components, tubes, ducts and manifolds for the V2500 and PW4000 engines. The capability is a result of a collaborative effort between Component Aerospace Singapore and the land systems arm of ST Engineering set up to deliver faster and flexible repair solutions for Pratt & Whitney engines.
