Cdr Dave 'Tinsel' Lindsay, the 'boss' of the Naval Strike Wing (NSW), is about to fly a simulated attack profile as part of an embarkation flight. As he sits at the end of Cottesmore's runway he performs the 'life saver' checks common to all Harrier operators - the jet's computer is loaded with the mission information, which Tinsel has backed up with paper maps and cards.
