There was something a little different about the cabin crew of Monarch Airlines flight 'OM18', a scheduled Boeing 757 service from Luton to Mahon on Menorca on April 5, 2008. That, passengers were informed, was because they were wearing 1968-sty/e uniforms to help the airline celebrate the 40th anniversary of itsrnfirst flight. It was in April 1968 that Don Peacock and Bill Hodgson, two former British Eagle directors started their own airline. They acquired a couple of former Caledonian Airways Bristol Britannia turboprops and used one of them to fly their first service from Luton to Madrid.
