Pentagon officers are scrambling to figure out where to station ten C-17A Globemaster III airlifters that Congress grafted onto the $636.3 billion fiscal year 2010 defence appropriations law, passed by the Senate and signed by President Barack Obama on December 19, 2009. Being forced by Capitol Hill to accept C-17s it didn't seek and for which it has no base, the Air Force is re-examining the long-running rivalry between the C-17A and the C-5A/B Galaxy.
