The US Air Force is reconsidering what it once called a "done deal" to install new engines on its 17 Boeing E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) surveillance platforms. A decision on E-8C re-engining is now "a moving target," Air Force Chief of Staff Gen Norton Schwartz told Senate lawmakers on March 4.
