Boeing is taking great pains to avoid direct comparisons between its new export AH-6i and the A/MH-6 aircraft now in use with the US Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.rnThe original Hughes OH-6 'Loach' (Model 369) was a basic light observation aircraft usedrnextensively in Vietnam and afterwards, and built in huge numbers (1,420). The OH-6 gained a new lease of life as a special forces support helicopter in 1980, when the type was selected for Operation Honey Badger, a planned mission to rescue US hostages held in Iran.
