The design of the Space Shuttle wasrnrevolutionary for a spacecraft and it is the most complex machine ever built. One of its key and unique J features is the ability to land like a conventional aircraft and so be re-used. However, while this spaceship may look like an aircraft, the flight-path and approach it flies on its return to Earth is far from conventional.
