Three teams have submitted proposals to the meet the US Air Force's KC-X requirement for 179 tanker transports. EADS was the first team to deliver its KC-X proposal, doing so on July 8, one day before the deadline. Its 8,800-page document described the capabilities of the KC-45, based on the Airbus A330 tanker transport.
