The Indian Air Force plans to upgrade 50 of its earliest Sukhoi Su-30MKI Flankers, according to a release by the Indian Government on July 5. The aircraft will be brought up to the latest standard currently being handed over by HAL to the service, including compatibility with the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. Two Su-30MKIs have also been allocated to serve as test-beds to integrate the aircraft with the weapon and should be ready towards the end of this year.
