On August 27 Boeing confirmed that the initial hand-over of the first 787 Dreamliner had been delayed until the middle of the first quarter of 2011. The delay is the latest to beset the programme and has been caused by an assessment of the availability of engines needed for the final phases of flight test this winter.rnRoll-Royce suffered an uncontained failure of a Trent 1000 on August 16 at its sea-level test facility at Derby in the UK. Both the engine and airframe manufacturer are investigating the cause of the incident.
