The SAS Group has entered into five-year leases covering its eight McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30s, its whole fleet of the type. The airliners have been leased to an undisclosed US airline, with the first departing SAS in the third quarter of this year and the last due to go in the second quarter of 2011. The eight have been operated by SAS subsidiary Bluel based at Helsinki in Finland, but are being replaced by Boeing 717-200s.
