The qantas Group announced on June 23 that it had reached an agreement with Boeing to cut its order for 787 Dreamliners originally placed in December 2005 from 65 to 50. The 50 aircraft comprise 35 787-9s and 15 787-8s that will be operated by both Qantas and the low-cost carrier Jetstar. A total of 15 787-9s that were scheduled for delivery in 2014 and 2015 have been cancelled, while delivery of the 15 787-8s has been deferred by four years.rnUnder the terms of the revised deal the first 15 aircraft for the Group will be 787-9s for Jetstar for use on international routes. Previously Jetstar was due to receive 15 787-8s in mid-2010. The 15 787-8s will be delivered to Qantas within a year from the fourth quarter of 2014, to replace its remaining 767-300ERs in service.
