Further details are now known regarding plans for the entry into service of the Pilatus PC-21 with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), following maiden flight of the first aircraft in January (see Military News, March, p11). The initial batch of six PC-21sforthe RSAF (9101 to 9106) is scheduled for delivery to the RSAF Flying Training School at RAAF Base Pearce, Western Australia, in April 2008. The airframes will be airlifted from Switzerland to Australia on board an An-124 and will start serving as flight trainers in June. The PC-21s will replace the RSAF S-211s currently in use in the same role with 130 'Eagle' Squadron at Pearce. The S-211s have been in RSAF service for the last 24 years.
