Delta air Lines Inc and Northwest Airlines Corporation officially confirmed on April 14 that the two carriers will combine to create one of the world's largest airlines, which will operate under the Delta brand name. The announcement had been expected for some time and will give the combined carrier a fleet of 798 aircraft, providing access to more than 390 destinations in 67 countries. Together, the two airlines will have more than $35 billion in aggregate annual revenues and employ around 75,000 people worldwide.
