The last RAF SEPECAT Jaguar unit, 6 Squadron (Sqn), flew its final operational sorties on Monday April 30, 2007, when it down-declared and ceased to be a deployable force element. Thereafter, the squadron was officially authorized to fly only as necessary to maintain pilot currency, and conduct a few ceremonial flights, until the last 16 aircraft could be flown to retirement at RAF Cosford.
