Lockheed martin announced on November 7 that it has received an initial $304 million contract from the US Government for the purchase of four stretched C-130J-30 Hercules, plus initial spares and training, under a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme for the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF). The deal funds 50% of the FMS deal, allowing procurement of long-lead items prior to finalisation of the definitive contract, which is expected in early 2008.
