All eight of the Polish Navy's modernised W-3WARM Anakondas have now been delivered to the Polish Navy, marking the latest chapter in a relationship with the type that spans close to 30 years. It wasn't the Anakonda, however, that was the first to be explored by the navy in the search and rescue (SAR) capacity. In late 1989, it took delivery of Polish W-3 Sokot helicopters, becoming the first military operator of the type when the first of two aircraft were delivered in basic transport configuration. The maiden example, 0209, was the ninth production helicopter and was joined at Poland's Gdynia Babie Doty naval air base a month later by the second, 0304.
