The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified the US Congress on November 25 of a possible deal via Foreign Military Sales for the Phase 1 upgrade of the Republic of Korea Air Force's (ROKAF) Lockheed Martin/Korea Aerospace Industries KF-16C/D Block 52s. BAE Systems was selected to upgrade 134 ROKAF F-16C/Ds in August 2012 and the DSCA notification signals a green light for the work to proceed. Phase 1 will furnish detailed design requirements to include computers, displays, sensors and weapons, as well as software design and development, engineering installation design and the construction of an avionics systems integration facility and test stations. The estimated cost for this is $200 million.
