Airbus Defence and Space delivered the first A400M to the Turk Hava Kuvvetleri (THK, Turkish Air Force) on April 4. A ceremony was held at the final assembly line at Seville-San Pablo Airport, Spain, during which 13-0009 (msn 009, ex A4M009) was officially handed over. After formal transfer of the aircraft, it was due to be flown to the 12nci Hava Ulastirma Ana UEs Komutanligi (12th Air Transport Main Base Command) at Kayseri-Erkilet to allow THK pilots to train on the type. The transport completed its maiden flight on August 27, 2013, but Turkey refused to accept it in September, however, for reasons that have not been made public. It has ten A400Ms on order.
