Pilatus Aircraft has contracted Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) to manufacture aero structures for the PC-12NG single-engined turboprop, replacing an existing supplier in Eastern Europe. Pilatus Chief Executive Officer, Markus Bucher, said: "The partnership [with TASL] is important in the context of Pilatus' offset obligation resulting from the sale of the PC-7 Mk Ⅱ Training Aircraft System to the Indian Air Force [IAF] in 2012." The IAF has ordered 75 PC-7 Mk Ⅱs. Under the ten-year PC-12NG agreement, TASL will assemble at its Hyderabad facility "a number of airframes that will be significant and relevant to the current annual production requirement of the PC-12 aircraft", according to Pilatus. TASL-built airframes will be shipped to Switzerland for final assembly. The first is expected to arrive in the second half of 2016.
