The coming year holds considerable uncertainty for US naval aviation, as with the entire US defence establishment. With the US presidential election decided, the President and Congress are in the midst of negotiations on the impending so-called 'fiscal cliff' which includes a number of looming budget cuts and tax increases that, if not avoided, will result, some observers say, in cuts of 10% or more over the fiscal year.
