The Czech Aircraft Industries, located outside the town of Kunovice in the east of the country, is modernising its legendary L-410 turboprop as the L-410 NG. The effort marks the most extensive improvements to the design since it first flew in 1969, introducing new engines and wings, and a modified fuselage, llona Plskova, Aircraft Industries' General Director told AIR International: "Around 66% of the new aircraft's components come from the existing L-410 UVP-E20." One third of all the components in the L-410 NG will therefore be entirely new.
