The Fon;a Aerea Brasileira (FAB, Brazilian Air Force) revealed on March 14 that it had selected the Boeing 767-300ER as the basis of its new tanker aircraft. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will modify two examples acquired from the pre-used aircraft market for the tanker transport and aeromedical evacuation roles. The FAB has been looking for a replacement for the Boeing KC-137s - acquired in 1986 but originally built in the late 1960s - under the KC-X2 programme. The aircraft will be operated by 2° Esquadrao do 2° Grupo de Transporte.
