Aviation Alliance LLC of California announced on August 27 that it had secured a commitment to fund its FanStream upgrade of the Gulfstream III business jet. The programme will produce an aircraft compliant with Stage 3 noise requirements with a range in excess of 5,000nm (9,260km). The primary change will be new powerplants in place of the Rolls-Royce Spey Mk 511-8s, although the company has yet to identify the type that will be used. New cockpit avionics will be installed, along with a revised cabin interior, improved amenities and electrical systems.
