BAE Systems has been awarded a four-year, ￡40 million research contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to study new unmanned aircraft. The Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) Focus Research study will investigate new concepts and technologies in unmanned systems and how they can be used to fulfil upcoming requirements. It will also review how technological capabilities and skills in the unmanned arena can be sustained in the UK in the long term.
