Uganda received its final two Sukhoi Su-30MK2 Flankers from Russia in late May, marking the completion of a $740 million contract signed one year earlier that included the six fighters (see Uganda Receives Su-30MK2s, September 2011, p21). The first two aircraft were delivered in July 2011, followed by another pair in October. One of the initial examples suffered minor damage following a bird strike in September and was subsequently repaired by Rosoboronexport.
