Air Force Materiel Command redesignated the Air Force Flight Test Center as the 'Air Force Test Center' during a ceremony at Edwards AFB on July 13. The Air Force Test Center is a cornerstone of the command's consolidation initiative to reduce 12 centres to five. The Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma; Air Force Life Cycle Management Center; Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; and Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, make up AFMC's five-centre construct.
