Poland has cancelled a contract to purchase two Aerostar medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned systems from Israeli company Aeronautics Defense Systems. The two systems would have comprised four ground control stations and eight air vehicles. The Polish defence ministry says it cancelled the deal after Aerostar failed to meet delivery targets agreed within the contract. A formal letter was sent to Aeronautics Defense Systems on September 28 after the Polish Undersecretary of State for Arms and Modernisation, Waldemar Skrzypczak, ordered the start of procedures for a breach of contract, and to claim compensation, 15 days earlier.
