Two landmark fighters, the first to go supersonic in level flight and the newest acquired by the U.S. military, will visit the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, this July. In 1996, EAA member Dean "Cutter" Cutshall bought the North American F-100F Super Sabre, which flew in service for the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1974 before being sold to Turkey's air force. Cutshall restored the Sabre to flight status in the markings of ace pilot Francis "Gabby" Gabreski, who is credited with destroying 34 and a half aircraft during World War Ⅱ, Korea, and Vietnam.
