The U.S air force's X-37 spaceplane came back to Earth on December 3, concluding its first trip to space ("Space Shuttle Jr.," Dec. 2009/Jan. 2010). In keeping with the shadowy persona it got as part of a classified Air Force program, the unmanned spaceplane landed at Van-denberg Air Force Base in California in the middle of the night. The left main tire blew at some point after touchdown, possibly due to debris on the runway.
