The latest imax film, from the team that produced Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag, explains how a century of trial and error in aircraft design and engineering resulted in Boeing's 787 Dreamliner and Airbus' A380. Boeing's chief test pilot, Mike Carriker, who is rated in more than 100 types of aircraft, serves as audience guide, interpreter, and flight instructor, taking moviegoers aboard a Stearman biplane, a sleek, swoopy Constellation airliner, an advanced Schleich-er glider, a U.S. Marine Corps Harrier, and into the cockpit of the Dreamliner for that airliner's first flight. After its June premiere, the film will open in theaters around the world in both 2-D and 3-D.
