There's an old saying that history is written by the victors, and it's certainly true when it comes to the aviation history of World War Ⅱ. There are thousands of books about the exploits of American and British pilots and airmen during the war. In contrast, there are relatively few books written from the perspective of German and Japanese pilots. That's both because many of them were killed, and there was relatively little interest in their home countries or elsewhere for their stories.
