摘要

The long-awaited mission of synchronizing and modernizing European airspace to accommodate in a safe and sustainable way the huge increase in air traffic that is expected over the next several decades, has made huge progress over the past year. Companies across the continent have been working ever more closely with SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM), the organization appointed by the European Commission (EC) to oversee hundreds of ATM projects currently in the works and ensure each scheme is completed on schedule. A total of 37 projects, ranging from new workflow management systems to enhanced airport safety nets, have been successfully completed so far, with a further 179 ongoing and many more initiatives currently in the planning stages.
