Virgin Atlantic Airways CEO Steve Ridgway acknowledged last month that he was aware of the collusion between executives at VS and British Airways to fix fuel surcharges on long-haul flights in June 2004-April 2006. In a statement released by Virgin simultaneous to court proceedings in London and cited by several press reports, Ridgway said, "I apologize unreservedly for my involvement in this case" and expressed regret that he did not take steps to end discussions between the carriers after he became aware of the talks.
