Asia-Pacific airlines carry some 30% of global passenger traffic and 39% of the world's air cargo. Asia also has seven of the world's 10 busiest routes. According to the Association of Asia-Pacific Airlines (AAPA), Asia-Pacific airlines carried close to 1 billion passengers in 2012 and year-over-year growth continues at about a 5%-6% clip with the region becoming the leading aviation market in the next 20 years.
