There is peace, if not necessarily love, among the factions that have spent the last two years warring over IATA's New Distribution Capability (NDC), which aims to provide a framework for facilitating airline merchandising through third-party distributors. IATA and the Open Allies for Airfare Transparency, a group of trade associations, GDS companies, travel management companies and lobbyists, jointly hammered out an agreement that provides a set of conditions under which the US Dept. of Transportation should approve Resolution 787, the framework document for NDC. They also agreed to establish an industry forum to support a collaborative approach to NDC standard-setting. It will give a voice to all stakeholders, including corporate buyers.
