The Japan Aircraft Industries (JAI) consortium will provide about 21% of the major aircraft structure components on the Boeing 777X under terms of a memorandum of agreement signed in June.Boeing launched the 777X program in November at the 2013 Dubai Air Show, and in January settled on conducting final assembly of the next-generation widebody, slated to enter service in 2020, at Boeing Commercial Airplanes' facilities in the Seattle area. In February, it selected Everett, Washington, as the location to build a new composite wing center for the 777X program.The accord struck with JAI calls for Japanese companies to provide fuselage sections, center wing sections, pressure bulkheads, main landing gear wells, wing components, wing-body fairings and passenger, cargo and main landing gear doors for the 777X. JAI is a consortium comprised of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Fuji Heavy Industries, ShinMaywa Industries and NIPPI Corporation.
