Lufthansa has been challenged by several strike actions by its unionized pilots. Besides the financial impact, how have these strikes affected Lufthansa's reputation? Our customers' patience is being tested-really tested. The strikes have already cost us millions and its effects will be felt for a long time to come. At least we managed to keep the impact on customers during the strikes to a minimum. Nevertheless, the financial impact has been significant. Are further strikes possible? I can't give you any really reliable guidance. What I can say, however, is that our system of transitional benefits offered to [pilots' union] VC is still one of the best in the aviation industry worldwide. It is a privilege-and the opposite of a massive cutback. That's why the mood among 120,000 Lufthansa Group employees is becoming increasingly emotionally-charged. Employees are becoming more and more concerned, because we are all passionate about being 'Lufthanseats,' as we call ourselves.
