Aeromexico took delivery of its first Boeing 787-8, making it the first Mexican carrier to operate the type. The aircraft is the first of nine 787-8s the carrier will receive, including five on lease from International Lease Finance Corp. (ILFC). Aeromexico will operate a total of 19 Dreamliners, including 10 787-9s ordered last year. The 787s will be configured with 32 premier class lie-flat seats and 211 economy class seats. Aeromexico will launch 787 operations Oct. 1 on its Mexico City-Monterrey and Mexico City-Tijuana routes, followed by the Mexico-New York City route later in the month.
