A joint Chinese-US flight training company has established a niche market to meet China's fast-growing demand for airline pilots. Tianjin-based ACCEL Flight Simulation, a 50/50 joint venture between Sichuan Haite High-Tech and Collins Aerospace, was established in 2016 and is the first company to produce a Chinese-made full flight simulator (FFS) at Level D capability-the industry's highest rating. ACCEL produced and delivered its first Boeing 737NG FFS in 2017 and its first Airbus A320ceo FFS in 2019. The company also builds procedure trainers and simulator visual systems. ACCEL general manager Martin Ding says the company is primarily focused on Chinese Part 142 training centers, some of which are directly operated by undisclosed Part 121 airlines. Outside of China, ACCEL has a contract to build one Boeing 737 MAX FFS for an unspecified training center in Singapore, likely to be Haite Aviation Training Singapore.
