The airline business is ultimately about connecting cities. In the gleam of the bright white wings of Tailwind Air Cessna Grand Caravan EX seaplanes that started flying between Boston and New York City in August, one can perhaps glimpse the future of regional aviation. Business travel between Boston and New York "is a huge, huge market ripe for a disruption," Tailwind CEO Alan Ram told ATW. "This is a version of urban air mobility." Instead of transporting passengers within a metropolitan area, the carrier is going city-to-city. "We think there are a lot of other city pairs that could be connected this way," Ram said. "Boston to New York City is our test case."
