The FAA will soon issue a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking(NPRM) that modifies and clarifies existing regulatoryprocedures to obtain FAA approval to test supersonic aircraft.In announcing the imminent release of the NPRM on June17 at the Paris Air Show, Acting FAAAdministrator Dan Elwellcalled the regulatory action the first, necessary milestonetoward the reintroduction of civil supersonic flight.
