With just 10 days notice, the FAA announced yesterday that it will hold a publicwebinar on Monday Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. ET to present its recently-released Noise ResearchPortfolio and Neighborhood Environmental Survey.FAA is seeking public comment on its Research Portfolio and NeighborhoodEnvironmental Survey to help the agency determine if it needs to update its aircraftnoise policy, which is now over 40 years old and the subject of growing criticismand political pressure by community groups who assert it is inadequate to assessthe noise impact of concentrated flight paths and NextGen procedures on theirhealth and environment.
