The influential trade association Airlines for America (A4A) has questioned thedesign of FAA's recently released Neighborhood Environmental Survey (NES) ofcommunities around a representative sample of 20 U.S. airports, which shows adramatic increase the percentage of people "highly annoyed" by aircraft noise andcould serve as the basis for an update of FAA's 40-year-old aircraft noise policy.A4A's members are Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Atlas Air, Delta AirLines, Federal Express, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines,United Airlines, and United Parcel Service.
